We're excited to let everyone know our new online study will begin June 23rd!
We'll be studying Romans 8 using Pam's newest Sweeter than Chocolate! study entitled Mindset - Learning and Living the Will of God.
Pam writes, "Romans 8 delivers the heart of biblical theology in one power-packed chapter and answers questions that make all the difference. Where can I find the power to follow God? How do I know God hears my prayers? What does it mean to be called by God? Can I ever be separated from God's love?
Mindset - Learning and Living the Will of God dives deep into Romans 8 and takes us on a journey across the pages of Scripture to discover truth for ourselves and wrestle with how knowing truth and thinking biblically will change how we see the world and live in it.
We can't stop with knowing truth...we need to press on and live it!"
No registration this time -- just buy your book and meet Pam here on June 23rd!

I have read the description of this study in several places and do not see the number of lessons it contains. Could someone pass that information on. Thank you :) Sandy
ReplyDeleteHi Sandy . . . We'll be covering the material in six weeks. :)
ReplyDeleteHi Pam.. It was great to meet you and your daughter at the Precept Conference. I am so looking forward to this study...Thank you
ReplyDeleteIt was good meeting you, too, Laura! Like you profile name—puts me in context! ;)
ReplyDeleteI am excited to start another online course with you Pam!
ReplyDeleteExcited to study with you, too, Miss Patti! :)
ReplyDeleteso looking forward to this study...
ReplyDeleteI too, as others, am looking forward to this study! This will be my first online course.
ReplyDeleteI would like to know what time it is going to be. The How to Study the Bible study was during my work hours. Hoping this one is later? Thank you.
ReplyDeleteI am trying to coordinate a summer bible study at my church using Mindset. I have a couple of questions. Will the first class be an intro clsss, or will we already be into discussing the homework from lesson one? I am trying to figure out for publicity/sign ups the end date for class. Also, will the videos be posted online just like in STC Heb and Ps 119? Finally, is there a leader guide available yet?
ReplyDeleteThanks so much! We just completed Ps 119 this fall and are finishing the Heb 11 study in another week. We have really enjoyed both. They are great intros to inductive study for students unfamiliar with this, yet are challenging for experieced bible students. I love the flexibility for all -- including the leader!
The videos for this study will post at 12:01 EST on Thursdays starting on June 23. You can watch them anytime 24/7 and comment whenever it fits into your schedule.
ReplyDeleteFirst class will assume you've finished Lesson 1. Videos will post just like we've done with Psalm 119 and Hebrews 11. Leader Guide should be available by the time summer session starts, hopefully sooner. :)
So eager to study with you all! If we're not FB friends yet, friend me over there by following the link on my name in the post.
I just received my book for this study. I am very excited to get started. Pam thank you so much for doing these online studies Susan
ReplyDeleteHey Susan . . . Thrilled to be studying with you all! Doing this is one of the great joys of my life. :)
ReplyDeleteI have my book for this study and am excited to get started. Pam, this is such a great way to study and especially during the summer. Thanks for doing these studies. They are wonderful. Carol P.
ReplyDeleteCarol . . . Glad you're ready to get started—I am too! :)
ReplyDeleteLooking forward to the study. Have my calendar marked and my book ordered. Love the fact that we do not have to get on line at a certain time, to join in for class. I am ready for some study time for me!!
ReplyDeleteHey Pam, I just received my workbook yesterday. looing forward to June 23rd!! Love, Mitzi
ReplyDeleteHey Mitzi! I'm looking forward to it, too! Every time I open Romans 8 I find more treasures!!
ReplyDeleteHey Sally . . . Glad the flexibility is working for you!!
ReplyDeleteThanks Pam for mentioning to have Lesson 1 done when June 23 arrives. I was wondering about that. Blessings on your day. --Mitzi
ReplyDeleteIs the online video crucial for the study?
ReplyDeleteIs it found at this website?
And overall, how long will a class be w/ discussion and video?
Thanks! I have 2 of your studies, but haven't had the privilege to start yet. I'm looking at Romans 8 for a church summer study.
Jamie Rindt, Arkansas
Hey Jamie . . .Videos are just a supplement. All you ever need is God's Word!! You can access the videos right here at the blog site or directly at Vimeo.com. They're usually between 10 and 15 minutes long. There will be a leader guide available for free download from the Precept e-store probably before the month is out. Let me know if you have any other questions. Hope you and your group can join us!
ReplyDeleteReally feeling like we will. I read over some previous questions and thank you for your quick reply.
ReplyDeleteNo problem! :)
ReplyDeletewhoo hoo my workbook came in the mail. I am soo excited I love the book of Romans!!!!!
ReplyDeletesorry that last post was from me (Sally)
ReplyDeleteHey Sally! Glad you'll be able to join us! We'll start in Romans and take a tour of a lot of other parts of the Bible, too!
ReplyDeleteHello Everyone! This is my first "Sweeter Than Chocolate" Bible study, but I just received my workbook in the mail and I'm so excited! I have taken Precepts Bible Studies on several of the books of the Bible but this is my first online study. I'm looking forward to growing in the word...and have been waiting to do something in Romans for awhile.
ReplyDeleteOh I forgot to ask, do we go ahead and do the First Week's homework before we watch the first video on June 23rd? If so, that will mean that we'll always be working one week ahead of watching the video, correct? Thanks!
ReplyDeleteHi Linda . . . Good to hear from you! In answer to your question, yes—it's best to do your workbook before watching the video. Once the videos post, you can watch them anytime 24/7. Looking forward to studying with you!
ReplyDelete:)
I have my book and am so looking forward to this study :)
ReplyDeleteWooo hooo!! I'm getting pretty excited myself! :)
ReplyDeleteHello Ms. Pam. I am new to the inductive study and I love it. I can't wait to do this study with you. Have a blessed day!
ReplyDeleteWell "Hello" to you, too, Ms. Pam! How did you find out about inductive study? So glad to be studying with you this summer!
ReplyDeleteJust ordered my book! Looking forward to my first online study with Precept. And Romans 8! What a treasure!!
ReplyDeleteHey Vickie . . . glad to connect on Facebook!
ReplyDeleteHi, Ladies, I'm absolutely new to this Bible study and kind of feel lost so far... I received the book. It looks awesome... What are the other steps? Are there any particular time and a day we meet online? Where?
ReplyDeleteAlso, are there anybody else from Jacksonville, FL or St Augustine, FL who would like to meet for a cup of tea and discussions? I'd love to...
Thank you so much...
Blessings,
Marina
Hi Marina,
ReplyDeleteThe first video posts on June 23 and you can watch it any time 24/7. Every week a new video will go up on Thursday until we're doing with the book. You can interact with the blog anytime day or night. If you're on Facebook, you can friend me by clicking on my name (it is a link). Have you done any Precept studies before?
Thank you Pam... I sent you a request on Facebook...
ReplyDeleteI never done any Precept studies before. This is my first one... I'm looking forward to it...
Well Ms. Pam, I first heard about the inductive study method when I picked up some of Kay Arthur's bible studies. I just love to hear that lady preach. So annointed! Anyway, I totally just fell in love with the way that you lead GOD's child to discern the truth for him or herself. And, I've been hooked ever since. Can't wait to get started!!!!
ReplyDeleteIs there a leader's guide for Mindset? I have two groups going. It would be a help!
ReplyDeleteLeader guide will be out soon! In the meantime, feel free to send any burning questions direct to me. :) This links to my Facebook page and you can message me.
ReplyDeleteCould someone tell me what time the online Sweeter than Chocolate, Romans 8, will be taught online. I cannot find my email that I received. I know that it is on June 23. Also, how do I get to the online presentation live? It says above to meet Pam here. Does that mean this exact page?
ReplyDeleteThanks,
The videos post every Thursday at 12:01 EST starting on June 23. You can watch them whenever it fits into your schedule. You will come right back to this page to post. I get an e-mail whenever a post is made so I can usually get in on the conversation pretty quickly—although I'm still working on how to post from my phone. Looking forward to studying with you! :)
ReplyDeleteWow, for once I've found an online study that isn't half finished. Now I just need to get the book in time! LOL
ReplyDeleteWoo hoo!! I'll be watching for your posts LMac! :)
ReplyDeleteI thought I had seen somewhere that I was able to buy one chapter at a time for $2. Is that option not available anymore?
ReplyDeleteHi Nicole . . . the chapter at a time option is available for the 1 Corinthians pilot class. Chocolate isn't available as a download product at this time although you can download chapter one to get an idea of what the study is like.
ReplyDeleteReady to go, cant wait.
ReplyDeleteSharing the study with my elderly Mom.
she's 85 years young!
Tell Mom I'm proud of her for continuing to study!!
ReplyDeleteO my! I have started the first week and can I tell you - it is melting in my mouth sweeter than any chocolate I've ever tasted!! :) Love the Word of God!
ReplyDeleteThank you so much Pam for this amazing study.
Pam,
ReplyDeleteJust checking in to see about the leader guide. A group of five of us will be joining you this summer and I can't wait. We'll be almost a week behind you. I know it will be a great study.
Couldn't resist...just like chocolate...and started the study. EXCELLENT. Looking forward to the online participation too. Thank you Pam. Well written.
ReplyDeleteLeader guide is close. Hoping to have first three lessons posted in next couple of days. Hope this post works. Trying it from my Droid.
ReplyDeleteI look forward to joining the study! I already have my book! I guess this is the link we need to use??
ReplyDeleteThis is the one! :)
ReplyDeleteSigning on for first "online" study and first "Chocolate" study, but not first contact with Precept Ministries... 20 yrs ago this ministry enhanced my Bible Study skills and deepened my appetite for God's Word ... love studying it, AND teaching it.... "summer flexibility" is a big plus as our ladies group takes a break, and I focus on replenishing my own soul...
ReplyDeleteJust ordered my book today. Printed the first Chapter to start on time. But I will be vacationing one week later so may be behind. Can I watch the videos I miss anytime?
ReplyDeleteWatching the videos anytime is one of the perks of this study! :)
ReplyDeleteHi Pam, looking forward to studying Romans 8. Thank you so much !
ReplyDeleteLooking forward to studying with you, Patti! :)
ReplyDeleteMy name is Daphne and I live in Beautiful Bella Vista, Arkansas. I have signed up for your class and I'm really looking forward to it. Right now it is less than 2 hours until class time (I know I can watch the video anytime though). I realized though that I am not sure that this page is where I go to watch the video.
ReplyDelete@Daphne...You're in the right place! :)
ReplyDeleteHello From Colombia, South Amercia! Been working on the first lesson and have been blessed. Some weeks ago God was began asking me to think about one of the main truths we are exploring in this study! Looking forward to learning from each one of you through our blogging!
ReplyDeleteDon't you just love His consistency?
ReplyDeleteSure looking forward to digging more and more into God's word with you and everyone. I know it's going to be a very beneficial, encouraging and stretching time. Now, back to working on the lesson - needed a printer stress break, it's working now though, PTL! Looking forward to learning from each other too - will be exciting!
ReplyDeleteHey, Pam...this is my first online study - already got my book and am looking forward to it!
ReplyDeleteThanks for all you do!
Paula
@Paula . . . doing this is my pleasure and joy! So glad you've got your book! :)
ReplyDeleteHey, Pam~
ReplyDeleteDo we just watch lesson 1 video from the right side of this page and comment based on our readings?? I noticed that lesson 1 has comments from 2010 in it...should we just add to it or am I in the wrong place? :)
Thanks,
Kim
@Kim . . . on the right of this page is a previous study. The first video for Romans 8 is the newest entry to the blog. Go to www.precept.org/onlinestudy. If this doesn't appear as a link, just copy and paste the address into your browser. Let me know if it works! :)
ReplyDeleteThis is the first Sweeter than Chocolate study I have done. I usually lead a Precept Upon Precept class, but I was anxious to try this as a way for some of our younger mothers who don't have a lot of time can get used to digging into God's Word. I struggle with being compassionate and hope that God will help me see fallen man in love just as God sees us.
ReplyDeletePam,
ReplyDeleteOur church's Ladies' Bible Study is looking at possibly working through one or two of the Sweeter Than Chocolate studies beginning this fall. I have ordered a copy of the books, but have to wait for Canada Post to settle their labor dispute. I would like to be able to
a) share your introductory videos with the other ladies involved in the decision, and
b) if we use the study, be able to show the videos at our study.
We generally have from 60-80 women studying in groups of about 12-15, but would show the videos to the whole group as appropriate.
Is there a way to purchase &/or download copies of each video, or have you dealt with this situation in another way?
Any assistance you can offer would be appreciated. I have reviewed the printed material available for download on the Precepts site & am very excited to share with the other decision-makers.
Thank you,
Bonnie from Windsor, ON, Canada
@Robin . . . I led Precept Upon Precept classes for years before God prompted me to start writing the Chocolate series. I've always LOVED PUP studies—still do—but realized that there were some people I just couldn't get to give them a chance. I hope that Chocolate helps to bridge that gap and flexes enough so that both beginners and advanced students can thrive together.
ReplyDelete@Bonnie . . . I'm actually in Chattanooga this week. Just forwarded your e-mail to the people who know more than me and will see what I can find out! :) Can't see that the videos would be a problem as you can download them from the vimeo website. Just go to vimeo.com and search on my name. When you register with them (free) you can download videos to your own computer.
ReplyDeletePam, I can't find a leaders guide for Romans 8. Is there one? If not no problem I just thought one was coming. Looking forward to our first week of this study...we are about a week behind you :).
ReplyDeleteBlessings and Thanks
Sandy
@Sandy . . . first three weeks of leader guide are posted on the e-store product page for Mindset. :) If you have trouble finding it, let me know and I'll post the link.
ReplyDeleteI can't find the first video. Where am I going wrong? I went to the online study but I see nothing. HELP PLEASE!!!!
ReplyDeleteHey Pam . . . paste this—www.precept.org/onlinestudy—into your browser. This should bring you to the newest blog post. If it doesn't you might need to empty your cache. We can talk about emptying your cache if the cut and paste doesn't work. ;) Let me know, okay?
ReplyDeletePam I found it!! Sorry if it was there and I looked by it. Thank you! Can't wait our first class is tomorrow :)
ReplyDelete@Sandy ... glad you found it! :)
ReplyDeleteJust visit your site,,, And find good Information...
