This summer, join people all over the world as we study Romans 8 and learn God’s sweet Truths about how to think and live in a way that pleases Him. As you study, we invite you to take advantage of the flexibility of this summer study –
It’s summertime and the living isn’t always easy. In fact, summer can be hectic as we try to balance vacation, activities, chores and family. Many Bible Study groups take the summer off for this very reason. But what if we took a more flexible approach to our summer Bible study?
Choose your homework level – one week you may dig in and work every assignment on the page. The next week, you may opt to work only the center column of the book. You choose. The more you do, the more sweet insights you’ll gain.
Work at your own speed – Yes, you can still go on vacation, host your extended family, or get ready for that picnic. If you miss a week, just pick right up where you left off and join us. Pam’s posts and videos will stay up through the fall, and she will continue to read your comments on all six lessons and respond to questions. You may choose to take two weeks per lesson. That’s perfectly fine. You’ll find a lot of people from Singapore to Great Britain, from Maine to Mexico, all studying at their own pace and commenting on the lessons with you.
So I'm wondering where everyone is from! I'm from Illinois but I get to visit Tennessee a couple of times this summer!
ReplyDeletenew york and it looks like I'll be here all summer loooooooooong. But I love this opportunity to study online because just in case we get the opportunity to travel--I can still participate in this study. And the fact that's it's flex means that even if there is a minor interruption in my circumstance---it doesn't prevent me from seeing this study through to the end.
ReplyDeleteSo glad to be studying with you Debrah. Just as an aside . . . Mets or Yankees? I love the online study option, too. I'll actually be at Precept the first day of the study but will be able to keep up with the discussion on my Droid.
ReplyDeletenot really a baseball fan but have been known to root for the St. Louis Cardinals.
ReplyDeleteI am from North Carolina in a small town in about the center of the state. I live an hour from Charlotte or Greensboro either one. It is also equal distance for a trip to the beach or the mountains. This is my first Sweeter Than Chocolate study and I eagerly look forward to participating!!!
ReplyDeleteI'm in Lima, Ohio. I'll actually be leading this study later this summer in a Bible study at a prison here in Lima. Looking forward to this study.

ReplyDeleteGod Bless you all! I am from Sacramento,CA!! I love PRECEPTS STUDIES! I have just found out about this online summer study this week, I have not ordered my book yet. I am wondering if it is to late to join in? Books are not sold here locally,I have looked today. Will it be to late to order my book Fri 6/24 and still join in. It will probably take a couple of weeks to get the book. Will I be to far behind in the studies?
ReplyDeleteHey Honey . . . You can download week one from the Precept e-store and work on that while your book is on the way. Don't worry about getting behind. People will be at different paces this summer but I get an email whenever there's a post, so we can keep the discussions going!
ReplyDeleteLet's see if this link works for the download: http://store.precept.org/user_uploaded/documents/STC_Romans8_Lesson1.pdf
Well, Honey, that link above that didn't exactly "link" — just cut and paste it into your browser to download the first week PDF. :)

ReplyDelete@Letitia . . . I think you currently hold the "Furthest Away" award! Glad to have you with us!

ReplyDelete@Deb . . . Feel like I already know you through Vikki! :)
ReplyDeleteHi y'all! I'm in Baton Rouge...... I've been looking forward to this for several weeks. I'm not that familiar with posting, hoping I'll get the hang of it.
ReplyDeleteBlessings to all!!
@Ann . . . Looks like you've got the posting skill mastered! ;)
ReplyDeleteHi everyone,
ReplyDeleteI'm from Pittsburgh, PA. Haven't done a Precept study in a few years, but have felt God telling me to get back to Precept. I found you were doing this study on line and decided this would be a great way to get back into Precept studies. Have been looking forward to this and to see how God uses this in my life.
@Kathy . . . Glad to have you back! Just a quick piece of advice . . . If you're a long-time Precept student, make sure to let this study flex to meet you. There's a lot of content to flex from both newer students to those who are really advanced with time on their hands so most people won't finish the whole assignment every week. People newer to Bible study usually love that, but it sometimes unsettles people with a Precept background. Just wanted to give you that heads-up. :)
ReplyDeleteHi Pam I'm from Toronto Ontario and am very glad to be part of this study
ReplyDeleteHi Florence . . . Glad to be studying with you!
ReplyDeleteHI! Looking forward to this study. I've been away from a precept class for a few years also. However, I did do the Hebrews 11 class, just in silence. I'll try to do better, and share. :-)!
ReplyDelete@RW . . . Glad to hear your voice!! Look forward to more of it. :)
ReplyDeleteHello Everyone,

ReplyDeleteHey Miss PittyPat . . . so proud of you for bringing it on the laptop! My new skill is learning how to post from my phone. Not as easy, but I think I'm getting the hang of it!

ReplyDelete@Yvonne . . . Take the time that you need and enjoy the Word! Whenever anyone posts I get an e-mail so no one gets lost in cyberspace. :)
Hi Pam!
ReplyDeleteCan you tell me which bible dictionary is the best to use?
A couple of Bible dictionaries you might want to check out are "The New Bible Dictionary" from InterVarsity Press or "Tyndale Bible Dictionary" from Tyndale House. One of my Greek professors from Wheaton (Dr. Walter Elwell) is one of the general editors on book from Tyndale. :)
ReplyDeleteHi Pam! My two daughters and I are studying together with you near Louisville, KY. This is an exciting way to study the Bible, and a first for us. Thank you for doing it!
ReplyDelete@Suzy . . . so thrilled to hear that your daughters are studying with you! I'm going to be driving through your neck of the woods in the next couple of days . . . bet it's hot, huh?
